How to reach Hotel by public transport

 

If you are arriving into Galway by bus to the Coach Station (Citylink or Gobus):

When exiting the coach station main entrance, cross the road and walk to the right around the corner. The hotel is the first building on your left. (approx. 1 minute walk)
 

If you are arriving into Galway by train (Irish Rail) or by bus (Bus Eireann):

Exit the train/bus station via the main entrance facing towards Eyre Square. Turn right after exiting the station. The Forster Court Hotel is along this road, on the right-hand side. (approx. 3 minute walk)
 

If you are arrive to the hotel by bicycle:

DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM DUBLIN

  • Leaving Dublin, follow signs for west M4.
  • Continue to Galway via the M4 motorway.
  • Leave the M4 at junction 11, and then join the M6 motorway to Galway; NB do not miss this junction.
  • As Galway city approaches, stay in the left lane on the motorway, and follow signs for Galway City East and docks.
  • The Galway clinic will be on the left; after the Galway Clinic is the martin roundabout; take the 3rd exit to a set of traffic lights and continue straight ahead.
  • Pass by Galway Crystal on the left.
  • Continue straight through the traffic lights.
  • Take the 2nd exit at the Skeritt roundabout at GMIT.
  • Travel straight until reaching The Huntsman Inn junction.
  • Stay in the left lane as the junction approaches, and then turn left and travel straight ahead.
  • Keep left at the fork in the road with the 2 sets of traffic lights.
  • Turn right at the traffic lights before the railway bridge, onto Fairgreen Rd.
  • CITY PARK (Fomerly iPairc) Car Park - Forster Street Car Park is located on your left. The entrance is just opposite the entrance to the Galway Coach Station.

HYDE Hotel is around the corner, on your left. Please note, we are located on a busy one-way street. If you are driving, it is easier to park in the Car Park mentioned above and then take the pedestrian exit on Level 4. It is just a 3 minute walknto hotel, around to the left.

DRIVING FROM IRELAND WEST AIRPORT KNOCK

  • Knock International Airport is located near Charlestown, Co. Mayo and is approx 86km from Galway City and 1 hour 15 minutes driving time.
  • At the roundabout as you exit airport, take the 2nd exit onto R376.
  • Turn right (signposted Galway / N17)
  • At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on N17 heading to M18/M6/Galway/Limerick/Dublin.
  • Follow N17 through Ballindine, Milltown.
  • Join M18 at Tuam and follow signs for Galway
  • Exit M18 onto M6 at Junction 18.
  • As Galway city approaches, stay in the left lane on the motorway, and follow signs for Galway City East and docks.

DRIVING FROM SHANNON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 

  • Shannon airport is approx 89 km and will take a little over 1 hour driving time.
  • At 1st roundabout follow signs for M18.
  • As Galway city approaches, stay in the left lane on the motorway, and follow signs for Galway City East and Docks.
  • The Galway Clinic will be on the left; after the Galway Clinic is the Martin Roundabout; take the 3rd exit to a set of traffic lights and continue straight aheah.
  • Pass by Galway Crystal on the left.
  • Continue straight through the traffic lights.
  • Take the 2nd exit at the Skeritt roundabout at GMIT.
  • Travel straight until reaching The Huntsman Inn junction.
  • Stay in the left lane as the junction approaches, and then turn left and travel straight ahead.
  • Keep left at the next fork in the road with the 2 sets of traffic lights.
  • Turn right at the traffic lights (beside The Galmont Hotel) before the railway bridge onto Fairgreen Rd.
  • Continue up thehill. CITY PARK (Fomerly iPairc) Car Park - Forster Street Car Park is located on your left. The entrance is just opposite the entrance to the Galway Coach Station.
  • HYDE Hotel is around the corner, on your left after the next set of traffic lights. Please note, we are located on a busy one-way street. If you are driving, it is easier to park in the Car Park mentioned above (View Map) and then take the pedestrian exit on Level 4. It is just a 3 minute walk to hotel, around to the left.
